That's good advice and helpful information.

I mostly use cast iron frying pans in the kitchen (I've got five of them) and use a stainless steel chain mail scrubber to clean them, quick and easy. I bought this one (on sale) and swear by it... no detergent (of course), just hot water and a very little bit of elbow grease gets anything off.

interesting scrubber, thanks for the link .... we just used the method in video in post 1 to clean our Dutch Oven ... it worked better than other methodes we have tried
