Save the taters for supper. Get out the grits. It's the perfect breakfast food. They go extremely well with eggs. If you want to bump them up, add some cheese.
If you want them for supper, shrimp and grits are a particular treat. They also go well with fried fish.

Re: camping breakfast
amen on the grits .... served with eggs, country ham, homemade biscuits, and covered with butter along with red-eye gravy .... now that's good eating .... must admit, I've never developed a taste for shrimp and grits but do enjoy them separately ..

Well, there are as many variations of shrimp and grits are there are takeoffs on A Christmas Carol. I'm sure there are several out there you would like. A lot.

We make pretty much the same only in a Dutch Oven over the fire.

Re: camping breakfast
our camping club is gathering for a campout this weekend .... I'm strongly considering adapting this recipe to be prepared in our Dutch Oven on Saturday morning
