I posted this a couple of days ago as a DIY woodworking project. http://henryrifleforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=7309 Here is the finished BP pistol loading stand I just built. Thought this tool would fit okay under forum "Black Powder Guns."
When I went to my first BP range shoot, I had no idea this loading equipment was needed. I'm definitely more prepared for my next range time! ~~~PT7

Excellent job, PT7! That project was well considered and executed. Love it. And thanks for once again showing us your way too cool, hand made Siberian knife, as a bonus. Great photos!

Appreciate that, Al. It was fun to work at this project.

I also posted a similar thread with photos on the Muzzleloaders Forum, just in case I didn't get it all together. I had no "blueprints," so had to build it from recalling what the one stand looked like I saw at the BP shoot. One member did let me know of a potential problem I could have.

He said there is no support to the pistol grip (back of it near the small "crook" at the top. The force of the ramrod from whenever I load a patch and round ball could possibly break the grip. So the suggestion was to add another padded block of wood to let the pistol rest on the back of the grip. I think I can do that, but it's simply back to the drawing board!!

Yeah, I'd like to shoot again, sooner rather than later. So as soon as I get this stand ready, and the weather is mostly clear of rain, I'll go for it. ;)

I think you can do that also. He might be also shooting the TC Patriot which they did have issues with that happening.

Very cool, PT! Functional, compact, nicely finished, it's got it all! Thanks for sharing and I, too, look forward to seeing it in person soon!

Very nice. Most of my BP shooting was with a rifle so I just held my pistol grip on my thigh when loading it while bench shooting. One thing I did use when bench shooting was a small rubber mallet to start the ball. Lot easier on your hand, also made a ramrod with a flat smooth piece of antler, it spread the force out on your hand more than the ones with a ball. Also used it alone to load on trail walks.

I think I posted a photo of my pistol a while back but here it is again.
