Great Gun Derringer

So I found these Czech made derringers by a company called "Great Gun". They are pretty sweet looking and come in 3 calibers, the most enticing of which is .54. Would any of you BP shooters be interested in these? There's a variety of barrel lengths and finishes and they even make a double rifle built on the same action.

Apparently in the area they're made they are used as carry weapons. This might seam funny but much like here they're unrestricted so folks younger than pistol age in their respective countries can tote them about. Also a .54 cal conical would be pretty decisive in a life or death situation.

I really want these imported myself just for the novelty of them, maybe to hunt with as well. With the double rifle on the same action it would be an ultimate BP hunting set. Should we petition Dixie Gunworks to bring these stateside?

This derringer looks cool. 8-) I really enjoyed my Bond Arms SSIV derringer, but of course, it wasn't BP.
There is a good video on loading and shooting of this derringer at http://www.wideopenspaces.com/shooting- ... derringer/ The fellow handled the BP o/u really quite well, especially when taking out the two cell phones. ;)

interesting .... I didn't know they are still making black powder derringers .... I've fired a 357 Derringer and don't think I'd want to try and hold onto a 54 caliber one .. :o

I picked up a Davis 38 some years back (1993). Some say they are junk. It has worked fine for me throughout the years. Like a dagger, I view it for up close and personal use.

Not trying to be rude, but can we get back to the topic? The point of the post was trying to get these particular derringers in the US and gauging who here would be interested in that.

You can't get a Czech Great Gun derringer, nor can anyone in the US currently, the idea of this post was making that happen.

On our end, nothing whatsoever, on the Czech end who knows. That's why I suggested reaching out to a US importer.

I figured that had to be the case, black powder regs over here would seem make it pretty easy for an importer .... have you considered contacting the manufacture and trying to find out what's up on their end .... once you know that, it may be easier to figure out where to go next

I still think the best method of getting them here is to get a bunch of people to ask an importer to ship some in.

that's certainly a logical option .... I can't help but wonder how many folks would be interested in a black powder Derringer .. :?: .. price would probably play a part
