Purchased this original revolver this summer couldnt resist so much history and nice condition and really fun to shoot. There is some bloodpittings where the thumb is on the frame and on the hammer and its something I often think about what happend to that soldier.

Wow, thats a great looking revolver. Just started getting into cap and ball but no way something like that would turn up here. I love the historical pieces.

Love your gun and 1858 is the best . Remember there are alot of fakes out there . All original 1858 are made with a gainer twist barrel and the fakes normally have standard twist . Metric thread on screws are another way .

I sometimes take out this revolver and wipe it down with a little ballistol while storing it, took some pictures its still bluing in the chambers.
The bore is pretty good aswell for being a 162year old firearm.
Im amased about how tight the cylinder is, its just as good as my smith & wesson.
I want to keep the gun in a good condition and dont want to wear so much on the originalparts so I use new nipples and mainspring and save the originals. I also got some new gripparts that I need to fit just need a screw and nut looking like original also beacuse I want to save the wear on the grip when taking on and off for cleaning.
Cant wait until summer to get to the range and shoot a little blackpowder we are 5 friends with original blackpowder revolvers and rifles, very high class firearms and competitive shooters im not that good I just having fun and learn alot from the old guys.
