Brass loading tube
I got a used BBS 357 last week and the brass tube looks kinda rough. What's the best way/product to clean it. Thanks.

Re: Brass loading tube
Looks kinda rough or is in FACT rough due to abuse such as dents, scratches etc?
If it just looks rough a standard brass polish product such as Brasso or Never-Dull may do it however if scratched or rough to the touch then a wet sand with a very fine wet or dry sandpaper may be necessary - and then a polish to finish.

Agree with Ed, except I would use 000 or 0000 steel wool.

Maybe a better idea - and if not TOO rough and it just needs an aggressive smoothing out maybe go with BRASS wool.I would use 000 or 0000 steel wool.

A new inner mag tube is $21.50 from Henry. Just saying. You might be like me and want to save it but sometimes you can just cut your losses and buy a new one.

It's not dented or anything, just splotchy looking, tarnished, like it needs cleaning. I'm thinking of trying some flitz.

I just did my mag tube with flitz and it looks awesome. Was so easy to clean but it was just tarnished with no dents or scratches. Just groody. Flitz did a great job.bluestringer wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 6:55 pmIt's not dented or anything, just splotchy looking, tarnished, like it needs cleaning. I'm thinking of trying some flitz.

I have used NeverDull with good results on discolored mag tubes.
