Cleaning rod construction - Stainless/Brass/Carbon Fiber?

Hey Gang,

I would like to pick up a cleaning rod, and would like to know what you guys use.

It seems that one piece is the way to go. I've kind of eliminated the coated rods (which I now have) as I'm told they can pick up minute shavings which will scrape at the bore.

It seems strange to me that so many prefer stainless, as it is so hard, but apparently they are also quite smooth, and do no harm.

I'm leaning towards the carbon fiber. I don't know anything about the brass.

So what brand and material is the way to go?

I've got about a dozen cleaning rods of all sorts (cheap,expensive,coated,SS,aluminum,etc..) - I think the best rod for the buck is a one piece Pro-shot SS. They are an American company that makes high quality, strong, smooth rods for any size Henry rifle.

I have tons of different cleaning rods and snakes . I found the Tipton Deluxes rod with the jab too in the video to be the best . They don't hold dirt or metal and they are like carbon fiber arrows they will stay straight .

I have been using Tipton carbon fiber rods for a few years now, and I have never had a problem with them.

Just picked up a nice Hoppes carbon fiber rod with a brass muzzle guard. Looks real good. Has the ball bearings as well.

I use Pro Shot Products with the Stainless Steel rods with a brass bore guide...which like has been said, there smooth. My local gun store only carries the Pro Shot Products brand line, so that is what I bought many years ago.
