H012GC forearm loose

Hey Fellas,
Got around 400 rounds run through my 45colt, (mostly cowboy loads and 40 rounds of leverevolution) When I got done over the weekend, I noticed some wiggle in my forearm that wasn't there prior to that shoot. It's not obvious how to tighten things up, Anybody got any tips and or tricks before I dive in? Thanks in advance!

Loosen up the barrel strap and pull back on it hard while tightening the screw. Worked for me on my BBS 357, and on my .22 Garden Gun. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys,
Talk to a buddy of mine tonight that is a Gunsmith. He has fixed quite a few of them. He used the term "glassing" I didn't question, just gonna let him work his magic!

I think "glassing" means "glass bedding". Gap fill.

The forearm looseness on my BBS was from a metal to metal fit so I am trying to visualize what he does to tighten it up with Acraglas. After your smith gets done could you share with us the procedure.

In my own experience, I don't think this has to be complicated. My BBS 357 had a loose forearm. I improved it a lot simply by pulling back on the barrel band while tightening. I did however end up simply removing the forearm and placing a thin piece of automotive gasket material on the flange of the forearm. Put it back on and now it's nice and tight. No more problems.

Ya, glass bedding wouldn't be my first choice either for a Henry.

Wondering if any of the .44 Mag owners have also seen this?
