Pretty crazy an "All weather" gun shipped with any sort of rust at all - glad it's all ready for some action! Have you sighted it in? Scope or red dot in it's near future?

Are you certain it was surface rust? I have had several guns that came with a reddish orange colored preventative paste internally and on moving parts that I first mistook for light rust. After the first cleaning, I realized it wasn't, and easily recognized it on later guns.
