After my range trip the other day, I had a few to clean and some that I didn't do last time ! 6 in all.
Thought I'd show a DW w/the barrel off, had not had the 445 off yet and cleaned & adjusted gap on both Super Mags.
The old 357 on the left musta had a lot of 38s ran through it. My reloads didn't want to fit, factory ammo was fine and
all reloads fit 3 other guns, so I soaked & scrubbed some more [wore out a 40 cal. brush] and all is good !! But those 3
the H012 S, DW 15-2 and DW 1911 45. And waxed the blue ones !!

Yikes talk about a detailed strip/clean.

Thanks guys, It's really not as bad as it looks. See the "T" handled wrench and ring by feelers gauge ? The ring is the barrel nut, take it off w/wrench and pull off shroud, barrel unscrews, reverse and set barrel gap w/gauge to spec. and lock it down. Piece of pie !! I do it not every clean, but once in a while. Clean threads & oil, keeps it all free. Wish I had a 10" barrel to put back on 445 !! It's on the list !
BTW, EWK Arms carries a much better wrench than the old DW wrenches, that can be brittle and break. Also MAKES barrels/shrouds and parts for other makes, barrels, sights etc. He does EXCELLENT work !

I think I'd agree with you DWD....it's "not as bad as it looks." When I looked at the 4"- DW 715 .357 Magnum at my LGS a few weeks ago, handling the revolver and looking at the equipment "T" wrench, gauge, and so forth, it looked fairly easy. And I've found some pretty detailed vids and write-ups on how-to-do-it for a barrel swap. I think it would be fun to do. Thanks for the post.

I've taken lots of barrels off a firearm but never a revolver.

Most revolvers require a Gunsmith to remove barrels. The beauty of a Dan Wesson !!
The barrel nut also tensions the barrel and helps accuracy You can change barrels in the field in 2 min. !!
Go from a 6" to a 10" or whatever.

Tore down the 44mag today. After shooting and getting warm, occasionally the cylinder would bind a little, so I did a MAJOR tear down to clean good. This is my first large frame DW tear down, but there's a good picture tutorial on the Dan Wesson Forum!! Small frame (22-357) are VERY simple and this may be easier!! Thought it may be interesting to see the inerds for y'all!
Got some ballistol coming and I'll give it a try
Oh and two Allen wrenches a pocket screwdriver and the barrel wrench, that was it !! I'm amazed how simple it really is

Those Dan Wesson revolvers are cool. I wish they'd have been more popular.
