I've been shooting my 45-70 a lot (as some of you know lol)
Question is should I take her to my rifle guys here to inspect the barrel and components since I'm not sure what I'm looking for?
Been shooting lead, FMJ, and coated so I'm guessing at some point it needs a deeper cleaning and inspection?
After every outing it clean it with CLP till the patches are white and it's keeping it's accuracy as far as I can tell.

There are some here, me included, that shoot until something goes wrong. Then, look for trouble. Preventive inspection and cleaning will never do you wrong. BUT... often you can go many moons without major attention.

I do not have a 45-70. However, it should work for years, just from cleaning and keeping the screws snugged. As long as you stay on top of the maintenance, Henry should fix whatever breaks.

I have had my Henry .45-70 for several years. I just remove the bolt, clean barrel, bolt, and chamber and re-install the bolt. I use Ballistol for everything - inside and outside - and wipe it down - done. If I have only fired a few rounds, I just use a bore snake and wait until I have fired a few more rounds to clean as above.

Last year I broke down my Henry Classic 22 that I have had since 1997. It had several thousand rounds through it from many outings with the grandkids. I had only used a bore snake on it all those years. I just knew it would really be gunked up - but there was not enough dirt and carbon after all those years to have even fooled with breaking it down. Other than the bolt face, the chamber, and the barrel, I don't think lever guns really get that dirty.

Shoot, clean, lube and shoot some more.
