Re: gun files
well, you've once again taught me something .... yes, before its mentioned I do realize that with my level of knowledge that isn't hard to do .. .. I didn't know that there are a specialized files for use on firearms .. .. so, I looked it up .. .. there are several different reasonably priced sets at this link ===> https://www.amazon.com/s?k=gun+files&ref=nb_sb_noss_1 .... thanks for raising the question .... looking forward to seeing what you come up with

Re: gun files
Not sure what type of filing you want to do, the only file I have for using on my guns is the one I ordered from Skinner - "Safe Sided" Triangular File- to install a sight.
This guy "MosinVirus" has a list of the some of the tools he uses, files are near the end of the video and there are links to all of them in the notes.

He has some crazy filing skills, watch this video of him doing checkering on a 1911 grip. BTW, the checkering files are quite expensive, $50-$75 each.
He has many excellent gunsmithing/build videos.

Re: gun files
Look at a set of "key files" as used by locksmiths to make keys for locks. Usually they come in a set of six - flat, round, triangular, square, half round and tapered. The files are about 4 inches long, many come with a 2" to 2-1/2" handle. Should handle any firearm related task.
