Stock Bedding

Post by Burch » Wed Dec 30, 2020 8:29 pm

Has anyone bedded the stock to the receiver on the single shots. I just got mine and after hearing about all the stocks cracking, I’m wondering if it wouldn’t be a bad idea to do some bedding before I shoot it.

I’ve heard a lot about it. Maybe HenryUSA has it under control. I know cracks at the wrist have been quite common for a long time with several manufacturers. I have a 1910 Rolling Block with pins in the wrist from a crack.

I have not bedded a Henry single shot but have done 3 lever action butstock bedding jobs. Acraglas gel with a little brown dye to match the stock does a good job that will give a precise fit for even distribution of recoil force.
