Yes, it is a rifle snake….it just gets stuck about 12 inches down the bore.
I think I will tie it to something….and stretch it out to reduce the overall diameter. Then…..if that doesn’t work…..

I will insert a cleaning rod with length of sting inserted in the patch holder, retrieve it from the breech, tape the other end of the string to the snakes brass cap, and pull it through until I can get hold of the snake at the breech.

I just never had any of my snakes hang up lowering them up/down the barrel. :x

My bore snake is really tight going though the Long Ranger .223/5.56. I've had to put the pull end on the ground and stand on it while pulling up on the rifle with the muzzle down. Wet #9 patches. The snake is specific to .22 caliber.

I’ll have to do a double check but I believe that my snakes are all bore diameter specific. I’m thinking that from 22 to 270 is a pretty big stretch. Will report back.
