Me neither Jim but maybe they know more about market demands than we do.
there isn't any doubt about it .... I have yet to see them put out a line that doesn't sell
This one won't sell in CA or Mass. Barrel is too short, illegal there.

I have the mossberg shockwave in 12 gauge just for the truck and the polaris Ranger utv. Perfect for putting down suspected rabid "nuisance" critters as the fish and game folks call them here. (Skunk, possum, etc.). No season, no permits required. I might be of a mind to add that lil guy to the safe. Miss T might like it. She has a Mossberg 410 she likes already, but that compact would be a good fit on the tractor as well if a coyote popped up.

If I did pick one up, I would probably make a scabbard for it to fit the Ranger, or... Just tuck it in the seat back like we do the Shockwave. :D

That looks like a serious critter gun, that's for sure. Not much use for us suburbanites, but if I were out there on some wild acreage, that'd be just the ticket.

Here on the farm, we've run across fox, racoons, possums, bobcat, coyotes, bear, deer, feral dogs/cats... All but the deer would raid both the chicken coop or the bunny hutch. The fox, bobcat, coyote, bear, and feral dogs could all make quick work of the 15 pound Westie if they caught her outside the electric mesh fence, or mom's watchful eye.

The bobcat and bear sightings are fairly rare... Mountain Lions have been seen in the county, and we have seen their tracks, twice. No actual mountain lions. (Cougars?)

Yup, the Axe might come in handy.

I have the 20 ga. shockwave and with the streamlight makes a nice "bump in the night" bedside gun along with carrying in my woods.

Being a .410 shotgun could it cycle a .45 Colt in a pinch? Wouldn't need rifling for short distances which is what it's for.
the only ammo Henry mentions for use in their new AXE is 2 1/2" .410 shells

Found a pic:

I like the fact that it doesn't have the brass receiver like the new SG full size. :o
Wish it was a 3" chamber, I like it ok. I can see some uses, none for me at the present.
Now, ifn ya....
Take that receiver slap a 18" barrel and a pistol grip buttstock, that would be sexy. 3" chamber ;)

I think that the problem with using three inch shells is that they are too long to feed using the standard lever action insides.
