How much should I torque the screws when attaching rings to dovetail on a Frontier? I have the rings but no info on the amount of torque.

That is a good question. I just did a search on line and there seems to be no definitive answer. There were several that recommended 10-15 inch lbs. I would think that if they fall in this range and are all the same it would be good.

Personally, I would probably go 15 to 18 in lbs.
Remember, if using blue or purple Lock Tite, ( NO RED ), it acts a bit like a lubricant when turning the screws in, so I would probably er on a slightly lower torque to start with. Better to have to tighten them again than to strip them.

Make sure you degrease the screws and holes before installation.
I hand-tighten then tap the screwdriver/hewx/Torx tool lightly with a small hammer to set the screws.

From what research I did on tightening bases, rings, each manufacturer had something different, all over the map. I'd go with whatever that particular mfg. recommended. If it feels too tight, it probably is.

I have to reference my previous post on this. Can always go tighter, but a lot worse if stripped!

I tend to avoid loc tite on gun screws. For your rings to dovetail, what material is the dovetail made of?
If it's steel, I tighten them snug then another little grunt tighter. Being pretty strong I don't bear down on them.
If they loosen up, next time I give them a bit more.
For aluminum or polymer, snug plus a little tweak. Both materials tend to bind up on steel screws anyway.
A .22 doesn't pound the mounts like big bore rifles anyhow.

Sometimes I use a daub of finger nail polish on the screws. works better than loctite.
