Im trying to decied what to putvon a little cva scout td in 350 legend. I want to carry it in the woods while still hunting. Im leaning toward a 3x9 vortex of some sort on tall scope rings to help stay clear of the hammer... though i suppose a red dit might be an option. Ive never dhot a red dot. In the woods i would expect most shots to be 50 to 75 yards and i doubt over a 100 is ever going to happen.... decisions decisions... diffcult when there are so many possibilites and my brain pan is so limited on knowledge..... hummmmm

For woods hunting, I prefer a scope for its ability to see into shadows, something a red dot can't do. What you describe, though, sounds more like a recipe for a nice 1-4x or maybe a 2-7x than a 3-9x. I'm especially fond of light, compact low power variables like the Leupold Freedom 1.5-4x on a woods rifle. They are very fast and easy to use and they don't change the balance of the rifle much or add much weight. Your rifle, your call, though. Best of luck.

I agree with Joanie. I like a 1-4X or 1.5-4x. If it’s a true 1 power you can keep both eyes open with no distortion and it gives you a wider field of view. Yet you can zoom in enough to make a better shot.

Nice think about these types of scopes is with the 20mm exit you can keep the scope low.

I have the VX-Freedom on one of the 35 lever actions with a low set of rings.
And I just looked, but can't tell the manufacture.
