Need advice on a scope for indoor ranqe . . .

Beinq *Old School* I do a lot of load/ammo development. At this point in time, all my shooting is done on an indoor range that is 25 yards long.

I would like to find a scope with the parallax adjustment down to less than15/20 yards. As for power, a fixed 6 or 8, would work great.

This scope would only be on the rifle until the brand [& lot number] for the 22LR is chosen, or the load for the centerfire has been tweaked. Then back it goes into the safe, and the peep sights are used again.

Does anybody have a *WAQ* on this ? ? ?

Ran into a BSA, Sweet-22, [ 3-9x40] that was calibrated down to 10 yards, and comes with rings . . .

The BSA Sweet series will work, but don't expect too much from the optics. The Hawke Vantage AO scopes are comparably priced and the optics are a cut above the BSA, actually very good for the asking price. I have the 2-7x AO and 3-9x AO on a couple of air rifles. Should be more than adequate for your testing purposes, short of sticking one on a big magnum.

I'm not looking for the best scope, I'm just looking for the brand & lot number of the smallest group size of 22 ammo . . .

I have a sweet 16 bsa scope. It's nothing compared to my hawke. The parallax focus of the hawke is finer, along with eye relief focus. The hawke is a brighter scope letting more light through. The hawke is a bigger scope though

The sweet 16's turret with its grain rating was never remotely accurate for me.

To get what you're asking your .22 ammo to do, you'll need a decent scope to help you out. Listen to what NCG mentioned. Then, you can run your peep sights. Otherwise, you may be chasing your tail.

I will also say the Hawke scope is your best bet. I have 2 of them on two different air rifles. They are good scopes and will focus just fine for that 25 yard range.

Well the Hawke arrived Saturday and I mounted it Sunday. I put it on a Ruger 10-22 and ran some old Federal Bulk at 25 yards. I got 1/2 x 3/4 inch groups. 8-) I got a couple more boxes of bulk to try before I start on the pricey stuff. If anyone is interested, I'm using an NRA 50 Foot Rifle Silhouette Target [TQ-14] . . .
