Korean made Bushnell

Post by Oldbrass » Thu Jan 06, 2022 7:45 pm

Cleaning up the man cave and found a scope, Bushnell Banner 1.5-4.5 x 32 Don't remember when I bought it. Been pondering a scope for marlin 30-30. It's quite compact I think I'll try it, glass is nice clear. Anybody using one ?

Hmm. I just put a scope that looks exactly like that on a CZ 452 Scout for my wife. Same turret covers, eye piece looks the same, except mine is a Tasco model. Not sure where it's made, but, sure looks like a twin. Seems to have good glass and clearity. At the center of the cross hairs, mine has a diamond shaped center. It sure worked good today in the desert.

I have owned a few Korean scopes by Bushnell and other companies. They all held up better than the China made scopes. I stay away from Chinese scopes but OK with Korean, Philippines, with Japanese made usually the best of the Asian brands.

True that. I have three Weaver scopes, all marked "Japan" and they are quality scopes. 3-9x38, K4 and a 1-3x20mm. Like 'em.

I like that even tho it’s a 1.5-4x it’s a 32mm. Most 1-4’s these days are 20 mm and while that’s fine for AR type rifles your 32mm is going to look great on your 30-30.

Had a banner on my ruger ranch which had little recoil so not a real test. Scope served me well. Bought 2 tascos in the early 70's for a 308 model 100 auto. Separated cross hairs on both with less than 5 shots total. Considered them junk and bought a Redfiejd tracker which I still have today. The gun was a jammer. Dumped that too!
Bought 2 Burris droptines 3-9x for my 30-06's, and so far really like and no recoil problems.
