Everything old is new again
Everything old is new again
Got a Weaver K4 to put on my single shot 45-70, and took it to the range today. Took a few shots, but it got sighted in, and it is gonna work just fine. It is probably 70s vintage, but in really good shape for its age. The old scope looks like it was made for that classic looking single shot. I’m an old fart, so we all fit together well. And for $75, the price was right.
Anybody else like the old scopes?

You can't beat those old Weavers. I have an old K6 tv screen that has probably been on a dozen rifles.

Oh, you bet! I put a Weaver Classic V 1-3x20mm on my BB brass and it's perfect. I bought it used, about what you paid if I remember right. All my Weavers are Japan manufacture. Great builds, great glass. Yeah, I like some of the older scopes.
My Sako[1964[ Finnbear in .270 wears an older Redfield 3-9 "Tracker". Clear as a bell. That rifle now resides in Idaho on my bud's ranch.

I used to have some very nice fixed power Weavers, but sold them off at a gun show since I wasn't using them. Didn't take long to sell them. Still very popular after all these years.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

I collected El Paso Weavers until newer scopes became so much better.
