Scoping a Golden Boy

Post by JimCunn » Mon Jun 09, 2025 12:51 pm

Is there a decent solution?
The cantilever mount is unstable and easily deflected.

If you are looking for a practical scope I don’t think there is one. If you want a scope that looks cool consider the Malcolm scope. Here is one of many.

I don't want one at all 😀
My grandson's dad wanted me to put one on my grandson's rifle.
I tried a Crossfire II on a Henry cantilever mount, but it is a really crappy combination.

Looks like you'd have to do a lot of drilling and tapping to put the Malcolm on a Golden Boy.

Have a gunsmith drill and tap the receiver.

"Have a gunsmith drill and tap the receiver".

I can do that myself. It would still leave the mount to scope attachments unbalanced with both in front of the turrets.

Malcom makes a mount. When I get home I’ll take a picture of mine and post it.

Gene, I'd like to see that mount when you get a chance.
