Built in Weaver rail, do rings just go right on?

Post by Cleveraction » Sun Mar 27, 2022 9:41 am

Hi all!

I just ordered a shotgun that has built in weaver rails atop the receiver. First time for me using this, can you please tell me if I should just mount the rings to this? While there would be no "cross bar" to prevent slippage, if I mount a rail to the rail there is nothing preventing that from slipping either... torque to spec I think I would be OK, but thank you in advance for your opinions before something goes flying off and punches me in the face.

While this will live a lot of its life with the bead, upcoming pig hunt and I might put something on top for slugs to 100.

Be safe, have fun!

Yes the Weaver rings should fit right on. Slippage has never been a problem on mine. Don’t over tighten them and rather tighten them often. Some people will use Loctite.

As already mentioned slippage shouldn't be a issue. But you'll likely have to strap a cheek riser on the butt stock to get your eye up higher when you put a scope on.
