Just to close the loop, used a $6 blank.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Thanks BigAl. No, I stayed with the standard front sight. I am not crazy about spending money, if I do not have to. I call it being thrifty. My wife calls it being cheap.

Money shots:

It was impossible to get the camera focused on both front and rear, for obvious reasons.
I like that combination.

So what does she say when you tell her you just ordered another Henry

Well, I did look for a Henry and ended up with a Marlin. I told her that it was for her. And, the grandkids can use it after we are gone. :D

I’m guilty of this too lately. I traded my M1 Carbine for a Marlin 336 BL today. I have been looking for a .30-30 for a while, and unfortunately Henry doesn’t offer a .30-30 in a carbine, or with a big loop. After the dust settled on the deal I made, I netted out at getting $970 for the M1. I haven’t shot it in 5 years or more, so it was time to let it move on. I thought about a peep for the 336, but I have a 3-9 scope I want to put to use so I’m going to start with it. It’ll be my only lever with a scope.

I made an assumption, which may be wrong. I assumed it was a response to the current post.
