As indicated in previous post, my desire was to install a low profile Skinner peep system, followed with a removable scope mount. I have successfully done the first part. In the pictures, you will see the LoPro mounted in the hole closest to the hammer. The sight comes with enough stem length that it will engage the top of the bolt. I cut about 1/8" off of the threads to allow a lower install.

With that rear elevation, the front sight was too high. I removed it and filed the entire bead tube off of it. Leaving a nice, narrow blade. I have not blued the bare metal yet, waiting to see if any more needed trimming. Thankfully, it seems to be very close to perfect. After bluing, I will use the Skinner orange paint to highlight the blade front.

I will be doing more shooting to get the sight picture just right. And then, start looking at scope mounting systems. The goal being to have a good peep sight available when needed. I will update this when I find a mount that allows for the Skinner peep to remain in place.

I followed Clovishounds lead on using the marlin rail for the BBS 357. A little work with a small round file allowed for a solid amount. I did remove the Skinner peep for now. I will attempt to work that back into the mount at a later date.
I installed a Bushnell Banner 1.75-4 x 32 on the rail using quick detach mounts. And, of course the hammer extension was needed.
I will probably put a barrel mount Peepsight under the scope, instead of the receiver mount.
But that is for later.

I like that LoPro sight. I had ordered one for my 45/70 but it came in as a black one instead of brass to I sent it back. I used a different Skinner instead.

The LoPro is the ultimate in simplicity! Nice to see pics of one on a rifle.
