I've been wondering since I switched out my sights on my Few Dollars More brassy...
Does that cupped section serve any purpose?
If I would flip it, it would lean towards the front sight.
Looks right swept back but I have no idea if this is its intended facing.
Just wonder every time I see it.
It's accurate and set so I don't think Im gonna move it and might solder it in place. (It surprisingly tapped left and right a little too easy at the range when sighting her in but I can't budge it with my thumb, if I drop it on a table while cleaning it will probably move)

In theory, the rear sight leaning back towards the shooter with that scalloped face helps to reduce glare on the sight when light is hitting the sight from behind. That's the correct orientation. (On more expensive sights, you'll see fine line serrations on the back of the sight for the same purpose as the scalloping.)

Reversing the sight so it leans toward the front sight with that flat face to the shooter would potentially increase glare making the sight harder to use. As to how well that sight design works to reduce glare is open to question, but I see nothing to gain and possibly something to lose by reversing it.

I use that sight on most of my muzzleloaders and love it. As north country gal sait it leans back towards the back of the rifle.
