http://www.marblearms.com/rear-sights.html. Didn't know these ghost ring type sights were available for rifles.
Might look into one for my 1895 High Wall .45-70 since it doesn't have a removable insert.

Nope not me never even knew they had one like that. I have seen one that rotates from a sight like that to the buckhorn. Dont remember who carries it though

Yes, I've tried the ghost ring version and also several Skinner barrel mount peeps. If I'm going peep, though, I much prefer a receiver mount peep. I find a receiver mount peep to be more accurate and easier to use.

As far as a barrel rear sight, I still prefer a good open sight that gives me a lot of daylight around the front sight. For me, it's faster to get on target than a barrel mount ghost ring and I especially like the fact that an open rear sight doesn't cover up as much of the target as a barrel mount ghost ring or peep. With a good open sight setup, I can do as well as with a peep sight. I think open rear sights get a bad rep because so many guns come from the factory with cheap, crude open sights.

As always, though, each to their own.

I like a tang peep because it increases the sight distance and also brings the peep closer to my eye.

Me, too. My favorite peep.

Yes. I used the bullseye Marble sight (I called it a Ghost Ring) before I went to the Skinner peep sights. The problem I had is the ramp adjustment was not fine tunable enough. Even with the buck horn sight you can fine tune the diamond insert.
As my eyes continue to age, I am finding the peep sight may not be the best but it works better than anything else. No fun getting old.

I have the Marbles Bullseye on my Rossi 92 357, it looks and works very well.
