Skinner barrel mount peep sight
Skinner barrel mount peep sight
Looking at one for my H001. Anybody have that setup, and if so can you stay with the factory front sight?

Re: Skinner barrel mount peep sight
I installed a Hi-Viz front sight ( https://amazon.com/gp/product/B008CXLWKO/ ) on my H001 in 2014 and last year I installed Skinner's barrel mount Peep. Perfectly matched. I expect you won't have any issues either, since the Hi-Viz sight paired well with the original Henry buck horn, too.

Good luck. The H001 Classics are easy to work on.

Ordered one today, now the wait for arrival. I’ll give an update when I get it installed and tested.

Re: Skinner barrel mount peep sight
Put the same setup on my H001 this summer. It shot a bit high about 3" at 25 yards with the peep screwed all the way down so I called Skinner to order taller front sight. He said to try filing of a bit of the threads before putting a different front sight on it. Filed about .020 off it and dialed it right in.

Well, I am impressed. Put the sight on, and it shot to point of aim at 25 yards with no adjustment needed. I could consistently hit basketball size targets offhand at about 100 yards. This is money well spent.
