Ok. Maybe someone else here might be interested in buying it from you.GunnyGene wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 2:30 pmThanks, but I'm not going to mess around with it. It's already in the box. It was a nice experiment, but I'm too old for any more experiments - with guns or anything else.Mags wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 2:09 pmIf the elevation adjustment is screwed all the way in so tight that it is jammed in the dovetail bottom, you may need to also loosen the windage dovetail setscrew before the elevation adjustment can be turned.GunnyGene wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 1:40 pmLater at 25yds with the Skinner, from my Caldwell rest. Nice tight group of 3. Unfortunately about 3" high and 2 inches right. I'm not inclined to spend any more time and money on non-adjustable sights playing that Kentucky guessing game, so it's back to the Nikon.

Re: Help with Skinner sight selection - update, installed
Sorry to hear that the Skinner didn't work out. Was the adjustment issue when trying to raise the aperture or lower it? As mags, wrote, you can only go so low screwing it in before the aperture stem hits the barrel. If you need to go even lower, I have used a file to shorten the stem when needed or you can order a shorter aperture stem from Skinner, too. Andy might even send you one if you tell him the problem. He's a really nice guy to work with.
If the aperture was sticky and not going up (unscrewing), I have just stuck an Allen wrench in the aperture to turn it. They can sometimes be a little sticky when new. Not to worry, Skinner sights are built like a tank. You won't hurt it.
Again, sorry to hear about the problems and I sure do understand about falling back on a scope. Have done that many times.
