Does anyone have experience with the Skinner Express Sight w/ Scope Mount on an H009 .30-30? Specifically curious about which rings you used and impact of recoil on the set up.

I'm considering this set up for myself and would like to use the Warne 7.3 rings Andy recommends on the page (I like their look over the Talley…also cost), however it looks like Warne discontinued manufacturing these with a recoil lug (photo attached).

I did come across these newer QD Warne Rings that have a recoil key (photo attached), but they are only listed in 30mm. I'm using a Leupold VX-Freedom 1.5-4x20 so I'd need to use a ring reducer with them. Does anyone know if the recoil key on these rings will work with the Skinner base? They seem like they would fit, but I'm new to scope mounts/rings so not sure myself. Also, has anyone use ring reducers on a 30 caliber before? Any issues or things to watch out for?

Skinner does mention a "recoil stop screw" that they supply for use with the Talley Rings. Would this work for the new Warne 7.3 rings that do not have the integrated recoil lug?

This is by no means an answer, but my suggestion would be to call Skinner directly. I had an issue within the past week, and I called the number on their site, got "Rob," and he had me figured out within minutes.

Their "tech support" is pretty good.

Thanks @ESquared. I sent Skinner an email with this question and got a reply back from Rob the same day! His comments on the Warne rings were the same as their website and didn't have recommendations on any other rings besides the Talleys. Hoping someone here has some insight. Also reaching out to Warne directly about the recoil lugs on their rings and will report back what they say.

I do appreciate you reaching out to us. For your particular setup, which is awesome by the way, I will just cut right to the chase and say, Talley is handling that arena these days. They are great rings and I have no issue suggesting them to you. It is true I only make the 314 in a 30mm tube version and I do not suggest running any kind of spacers or fillers in rings. As much as I hate to turn away business, Talley is where you need to look for a rock solid setup for your application. They even have the QD version you would like to have.

I'll look at Talley rings in more detail, however from my initial searching it did not appear that they have recoil lugs.
