Trijicon RMR 3.5moa

Post by quest450 » Wed Nov 24, 2021 10:15 am

New to lever guns, got my first Henry H010G .45-70 recently and like the title says I'm thinking about Trijicon RMR 3.5moa red dot mounted on EGW sight mount, I'm 60yo and my eyesight is not getting better, front sight is a little blurry and I'm not gonna wear prescription glasses while shooting so I thought red dot might be a good choice out to 100yd max, appreciate your thoughts and opinions.

I was having trouble seeing my front bead also, in my 70's, instead of adding I bought a fiber optic front sight and a bullseye rear. In the sunshine the front glows like a laser, lined up in the bullseye fantastic sight picture! The sights I bought are Marbles (Marblesguns.com) thru Midway. About $35 for both, installed myself.
Whatever you decide enjoy :D

That sounds good ol'pole I'm glad it worked out for you
I think I'm gonna go with the red dot tho, just seems like quicker target acquisition with my blurry eyes

Just remember that a 3.5 MOA dot will cover 3.5” of your target at 100 yards. There are some 2 MOA red dots available out there including one from Vortex. Wonder how a red dot will do with the recoil of a 45-70?

If it’s a Trijicon, I wouldn’t worry about it.

I ordered one from EuroOptic, best price online by far, no black Friday discount

Hey GeoBoy call EGW, their website shows out of stock but when I called they found few available, got it yesterday and today my Henry is wearing Trijicon RMR mounted on EGW mount, looks pretty slick, nice clean install
