I ordered one from EuroOptic, best price online by far, no black Friday discount
I did the same, just waiting for the QD mount to come off back order.
It came in today, very nice product.

Just remember that a 3.5 MOA dot will cover 3.5” of your target at 100 yards. There are some 2 MOA red dots available out there including one from Vortex. Wonder how a red dot will do with the recoil of a 45-70?
hello, i have tested vortex red dot, + magnifier ,during one year on a marlin sbl, with no problem.
only at range, i don't hunt, shooting 45-70 is just for fun :D

but red dot are not optimal for my eyes, as i use a Burris AR-536 on a my AR 15 and i love it, i try actually one on marlin 45-70 .
Burris is build like a tank, and no moving part, very robust.
i have tested it à 110 yards, no problem, but mount is a little too far forward, this reduces the field of vision...
I will try to back it up, an inch less, that would be ideal.
the idea is to be able to use it up to 200 yards...
