Need ideas on scope rail for henry 223 single shot ho15. Would like something that I don't have to remove rear sight to mount.

If you went with a short optic you could cut down the Henry Picatinny rail (this one https://henrypride.com/collections/rifl ... ngle-shots )and use that rather than a full length scope.

Something like this Burris 3x32 red dot should fit on the cut down Henry rail if you have about 5 inches of rail to mount it to.

I bought a leupold 3-9x40 already. Any other ideas?

Nope. All out. Why do you want to keep the rear sight in place anyway? You wouldn't be able to use it with a rail/scope on the gun.

Update: I looked up the manual for your gun. Henry says you should have a folding rear sight to accommodate a scope mount so you don't have to remove it. If it were me, I'd order the picatinny rail I mentioned earlier and try it out. It's only about $27. Less than a tank of gas or a box of ammo.

If the picatinny works for you, you'll need to get some rings unless you already have them. I have this set up on my .41 BBSC with the same size scope as your Leopold. I bought a pair of split rings for it at a local shop for about $25.

I installed Leopold 56515 base with extra high rings to accommodate the scope without making any other changes ..
On my H015 in .308 single shot..
I also bought Henry Carlson hammer expander .
