Front sight

Post by New2Henry » Tue Sep 14, 2021 11:15 pm

I want to replace the front sight on my H001, basically the only ones I can find are the barrel clamp style which will not work for my rifle. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. Why do you want to replace the front sight? What type of sight will you replace it with?

I’ve replaced the front and rear sights on most of my Henrys. Skinner can dovetail your front mag tube hanger so you can put most any sight up front.

My eyes aren't what they used to be. I need something I can pick up just a little better.
I'm looking for something that doesn't require dovetailing, I just want something that bolts right up.

I don’t believe anyone makes a front sight/hanger for the H001. If you change the rear sight you will have several options.

Found a rear flip up buckhorn on Midway today might pick that up sometime here soon.

The Ranger Point sights will not fit on the H001 without the tube hanger being modified.

Skinner modified this tube hanger for me and I added a Lyman globe to it.

I like a globe because I can quickly change from a peep to a six o’clock or a point of impact without having to re-zero.

I think iv got it figured out Hi Viz makes a barrel band site that also has a screw through the top. So I'm going to cut the barrel band off a little filing a little bluing and bolt it up and that should work. In theory LOL
