Just mounted the scope with Talley Low rings for a 44mm. I think I probably could have gotten by with extra low. Based on conversations with Talley and my own calculations I thought I should only have 3mm left (1/8) but it looks more like 1/4.
They seem pretty stout, we will see how the do!

I've had the same model of Talley rings on my Tikka T3 .270 for about 8 years. They're about as foolproof as you can get 
. I also used them on its "mini me" Tikka T1 .22 Long rifle, just to match up

Wow. That brings back memories. I met my wife in Ingleside. We use to eat lunch around those parts. It was hot, most days. Now, we are the somewhat cool area of Virginia's shores.
