OK, I admit, the true minimalist would be iron sights. However, I am putting a scope on my new H009g and am starting to confuse myself. The scope has a 30mm tube and I got matched weaver style rings and the weaver 63b bases (and whatever come in the Henry Box). I don't really like the bolts that tighten the rings to the base. I have been looking at Skinner, but they still require the rings be added and at Warne, if you get the kind with no bolt near the bottom, you get an addition connection at the top. I am not interested in QD style connections
I would really like a base that has the bottom 1/2 of the ring integrated into it. Any tips on this, or mounting in general, or the least obtrusive way to connect everything? Attached is a pic of my Rem 700 set up which is kind of what I am aiming for; though if I am being objective this might not be any less obtrusive, but is just what I am used to looking at! Oh, any rings with see though bottoms (or do you know what the clearance has to be) if I want to be able to see the buckhorn sights at a glance w/o the Skinner? Anything else I should be considering?
Thanks in advance!

Re: minimalist base(s)/rings please help
Came across Talley and Conetrol Rings, they seem to make what I am trying for but the amount of steel involved the seem a little pricey (well to me anyway). But heck, good ideas have value so pay up or find something else I suppose.

if you're talking a more "permanent" type mount, Talley makes an ultralight ring with an integral base that I've used on my Tikka T3 and T1. They're alloy, light, and about as minimalist as you can get. I assume Talley makes them for Marlin and Henry receivers. There's no detaching the scope unless you want to sight in the rifle again, though.

Re: minimalist base(s)/rings please help
Yes, @yornoc3 the Talley's are what I am looking at, and they are very reasonable at $54 a pair, whereas the Conetrol is closer to $200 when all said and done. @Sir Henry, those look good, but that have the same kind of obtrusive bolt to make the weaver connection. I pick up the gun and the scope comes in tomorrow so I will look it all over and see if I can live with the two piece set up or order the Talleys. I have a set of medium rings now, and it appears that if I want to get that scope any lower I might have to remove the buckhorn but I will start playing with it and come back as needed! thanks!

I used Leupold PRW2 scope ring sets.
They'll give you a nice low profile minimalist but robust mount for your scope. They might work for you.
