Just ordered a Hawke vantage 2-7 x32 and a set of Tally rings. Now the wait begins.

Hawke makes some fine optics. I am ordering one of their "Endurance" monocular, 10x42. What are you putting the 2-7 on?

Just my two cents here. I personally think that any scope is ugly on a lever gun. Believe me, I've had a scope on all three of my Henrys and even though they shot well, I just got tired of looking at them. I thought I needed them with my 68 yr. old eyes. Now they all wear Skinner peeps. It took a while, but I shoot just as well if not better after I got used to the peep sights. Grant you, I don't shoot much at over 100 yds. at anything, but I have lots of fun. To each his own. If you are having fun, then that's what it's all about.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the skinner.

I'm running a sig VPO and Vortex VPO on my big boy x's.

I agree that scopes do look a little out of place on a levergun, but that being said I've had one on a Marlin 30-30 for some 40 yrs. now.
I now have scopes on about half of them, very useful in the field. I'm a hunter as well as a plinker.
The scopes help in the early mornings and late evenings.
I have two that wear peeps, but I don't shoot them near as accurately as I do a scoped rifle.

Was at Academy yesterday looking at range finders and was discussing Nikon with one of the counter personal.
He said that Sig had bought all of Nikon's patents for their rifle scopes.
I did pick up a new Sig Sauer range finder, and will be playing with it some later today.

If you want to scope a lever and make it look right then get a Malcom scope. This one is a reproduction and is on a Henry Frontier.

Not a skinner scope, but this is, I think, far more appropriate look for the gun.
