Daytime Dave asked me to post a link to another forum.

It's where I spend my time while talking about drumming.

It's very family friendly and in a way very strict...including no links to other commercial sites since it is sponsored by DrumBum which sells drum related items, no guns, politics or religion are allowed there. Just drums and personal drumming experiences.

Because of that, it's very respectful and easy going and everyone gets along great.

If you like talking drums, it's really the most well run forum I'm a member of.

I'm glad I did. My daughter played for a few years. This brought back many memories. Especially the moving blankets draped around her room. She complained it was hot. It was quiet too. lol

I have a drum set. It's actually my third, an asian knockoff with black lacquer finish . I like to play along with recordings, especially Big Band. It's a great way to blow off steam, like after work.

Also have a couple of keyboards, a couple of guitars, and a few amps including my old Super Rerverb, as well as my 4 PA cabs with 15" speakers.

I lived in an apartment at the time, so I never got passed just having the Drumsticks, lol.

But when talking about Drums and mentioning "Big Band", it sure does remind me of my all time favorite Drum song.

No drums, but was around lots when in my teens. Played in several bands. Still have guitars; Epiphone Hummingbird, Epiphone Dot, Beatle bass, T-Bird bass and a 2nd re-issue 1975 Gibson Flying V worth about $7500 last time I checked. Paid $650 for it new in '75. Anyhow, always liked playing around on the drum kits at that time. Slingerland if memory serves.

I first played guitar when I got in to bands and one day our drummer quit showing up for rehearsals and I volunteered to sub until we could replace him. That never happened and I've been the drummer for almost 40 years now.

I do still play guitar in church which is very rewarding.

Several years ago I started building my own guitars. I sold them all over a few months time to one of my band members who is one of the best guitarist in our area. He rotates playing them week after week, which is kind of an honor.

Amazing solo's in that piece, never heard it before. In the first solo, sounds like he's playing the melody on the toms, with riffs mixed in.

I'm something of an epi man myself, I have the LP standard with seymour duncan's sh1 neck and sh-4 (bridge). All the hardware has been replaced in the 20 years I've had it. Also have a epi dove made my Samick for 15 years and an epi accu base.

For everything else I have American and Mexi strats.

The Flying V sounds superb. I have a '75 hardtail strat, more of less retired

Funny but I started playing drums, had a set when i lived in NY. Also had a stupid air organ. Then started playing base, till i was replaced and moved over to guitar. You know how those teen age bands are

It would be cool to see the guitars you've made, but why did you stop?

I built 7 or so strats and 2 teles. There was nothing more to do. Plus, space is limited considering the drum set collections.

Here's where they ended up. This is the bar built and owned by the purchaser and my guitar friend. He's the one on the ladder. Get this...he named his place....ready for this....? The Whammy Bar. Named after the whammy bar on most strats. I thought it was clever as ever.

When a bar is designed and built by an actual musician it is done right. This place rocks.

I should also point out that back in the 70's through the early 90's he was the VP of accounting for Springfield Armory. He got me hired on there in the sales department which is how I got into guns in the first place. Then in 1991 he left to start his own consulting company for computers and hired me as his VP of sales since I had been in retail sales for 15 years previously. He then got me into computers and I flourished which is today why I am an IT specialist. He's been a real good friend for all these years. I owe him a lot.

The owner and my guitar friend is on the far left rockin' it out. He's also playing the charcoal burst I built. The other guitarist is playing the red one I built. I just now noticed this for both guitars.

Actually for all intents and purposes all the guys up there but the drummer and keyboardist were in my band back in the 80's.

hooooooooooboy. I've been away a while.

Sorry for the lack of photos. I was using a hosting site that got bought out and I wasn't going to wait around for new rules and other such nonsense to kick in. Unfortunately as witnessed here, I forget where all my photos were posted. Oh, well, onward and upward.

Got into a very prosperous band project first of the year and we've been playing almost every weekend since. I have had little to no time to even go range plinking.
