Civil War rifles & revolvers -- interesting web site

Post by PT7 » Sun Oct 09, 2016 11:15 am

I found an interesting web site when looking for some shotgun history. I was "hunting" for info mainly because of the Henry announcement that they would introduce various shotguns into their 2017 product lines, plus I like to read armament history.

First looked at the Civil War armament. I found the Civil War rifle & revolver photos quite cool to look at.
But the site doesn't carry only Civil War information....lots of other topic choices for some interesting reading here. So here is the specific link on the Civil War stuff, and of course the web site links to other info: http://www.militaryfactory.com/smallarm ... r-guns.asp

Thought someone might enjoy this stuff.
Have a quiet and refreshing Sunday!

Great site ..... THANK YOU .. I've owned a lot of the guns used in the Civil War . My 40-70 Maynard was the best CW rifle . You could change cal and barrel in 20 sec . The original maynard cartridge below . My Maynard had a tang sight and it had a perfect bore and the finish was the same as one in pic which is not mine . Lost the pic of mine 30 yrs ago in my computer .

Thanks, that is a terrific site with a world of military information. We have Gettysburg a half hour away and Antietam Battlefield a little bit farther down the road. I like Civil War history.
