Sorry to hear that Mags. As you’re probably well aware of here in Washington State we are experiencing another round of anti-gun legislation again this session. It never stops for us.Mags wrote: ↑Wed Mar 12, 2025 2:12 pmWell crap. "Measure 114 deemed constitutional by Oregon Court of Appeals" ... "It is expected that this ruling is also appealed."

Yes, looks like the training requirement to buy a gun or get a CWP is likely to pass. The one requiring $25,000 insurance for each gun owned is not going to pass this year but they say it will probably be re-introduced next year.Hatchdog wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 9:55 amSorry to hear that Mags. Not gun related but the bill legalizing automatic knifes has passed the Senate and gone to the House so it has a chance of making it. It's been introduced the last few years but has never made it this far. Kind of a stupid law as knifes with thumb studs open one handed and just as fast as an automatic. They are even legal in CA although with a 2" length limit.dave77 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 12:35 pmYes, looks like the training requirement to buy a gun or get a CWP is likely to pass. Yep, seems unconstitutional. Probably by the same people who live behind locked gates, with armed security.
Actions speak louder than words (Matthew 7:16-20).
Re: Oregon Updates - Info Only
WOW. That’s just wrong.
Re: Oregon Updates - Info Only
Measure 114. April 16th would be the end of the 35 day hold issued out of the Oregon Court of Appeals. Supposedly it has been appealed to the Oregon Supreme Court, but I haven't seen anything confirming that. Stores are shutting off gun sales already. So zero gun sales until the infrastructure is in place for the deeper dive background checks, issue the buyer licenses to purchase, along with the buyer having to get a live fire training certificates. Right now that is looking like a year away, April 2026. It's possible HB3075, if passed, would allow gun sales to continue until then. HB3035 is out of committee but hasn't been voted on in either house.
Two new bills being worked on
HB3076 Directs the Oregon Department of Justice to study the establishment of a state gun dealer licensing program.
Senate Bill 243
o Implement a 72-hour hold before a dealer could transfer a firearm.
o Ban rapid-fire activators — devices that increase a gun's rate of fire.
o Allow cities and counties to adopt regulations banning concealed handgun licensees from their buildings and grounds.
o Allow the governing body of a metropolitan service district to adopt a policy prohibiting concealed gun carriers from possessing guns in a zoo facility (the Oregon Zoo). Legislative affairs manager for the Metro regional government said Metro has received "many complaints" about concealed handgun license holders who openly carry at the Oregon Zoo or Oregon Convention Center but are unable to do anything.

The Washington state permit to purchase in only one of several anti 2A bills in the state house this year. Every year more and more comes our way.
Re: Oregon Updates - Info Only
The Oregon Supreme Court has agreed to review the state appellate court ruling that found gun control Measure 114 constitutional under state law.
The state’s high court set oral arguments for Nov. 6.
A new bill, not part of Measure 114.

Re: Oregon Updates - Info Only
Several new bills this year, saw that HB1504 is apparently dead for this year.
HB-1504 is the bill mandating all gun owners carry insurance coverage or bond of $25,000 for each gun they own.
