I listen to a lot of old time radio on my vintage tube radios. I like Suspense Theater.

I love old radio shows, I like to think about families gathered around listening to their favorite shows. It must have been fun.

I have a couple of Gene Autry Christmas radio broadcasts that we try to listen to on the exact day in December they were originally broadcast. Coming up soon!

Gene Autry is the only performer with five stars in the Hollywood walk of fame. He flew transport planes in W.W. 2. The Statler Brothers did a song about him and his Biography is BACK IN THE SADDLE AGAIN.

I've read the biography, he was a very smart guy, and a genius with money and marketing. Funny story: Autry and his horse Champion were performing at Madison Square Garden in the 1940's. MSG used to hold rodeos there of all places. Anyhow, Autry was introducing Champ who was behind him bowing. Right before he finishes the intro Champ unloads a big pile of manure on the stage. Autry didn't see it, and just as the horses finishes, he says "Well now that Champ's done his bit, it's time for me to do mine." The crowd roared with laughter but the joke was on Autry. He said he told that story lots and always laughed his head off.
