Measure 114. April 16th would be the end of the 35 day hold issued out of the Oregon Court of Appeals. Supposedly it has been appealed to the Oregon Supreme Court, but I haven't seen anything confirming that. Stores are shutting off gun sales already. So zero gun sales until the infrastructure is in place for the deeper dive background checks, issue the buyer licenses to purchase, along with the buyer having to get a live fire training certificates. Right now that is looking like a year away, April 2026. It's possible HB3075, if passed, would allow gun sales to continue until then. HB3035 is out of committee but hasn't been voted on in either house.
Two new bills being worked on
HB3076 Directs the Oregon Department of Justice to study the establishment of a state gun dealer licensing program.
Senate Bill 243
o Implement a 72-hour hold before a dealer could transfer a firearm.
o Ban rapid-fire activators — devices that increase a gun's rate of fire.
o Allow cities and counties to adopt regulations banning concealed handgun licensees from their buildings and grounds.
o Allow the governing body of a metropolitan service district to adopt a policy prohibiting concealed gun carriers from possessing guns in a zoo facility (the Oregon Zoo). Legislative affairs manager for the Metro regional government said Metro has received "many complaints" about concealed handgun license holders who openly carry at the Oregon Zoo or Oregon Convention Center but are unable to do anything.

The Washington state permit to purchase in only one of several anti 2A bills in the state house this year. Every year more and more comes our way.
