I agree with Al on the 12 ga. as a better home defense weapon.
I kinda like that Shockwave. ;)

Said this before 12ga with OObuck better home defense weapon than any 9mm. Henry is doing nothing more than taking advantage of the cheap centerfire ammo. Im sure they will sell a lot of them. Ruger did the same with the PC Carbine. I have one of those in a 40. Just happen to like the looks of it much better. YMMV
Big Al,

Came across this article last night (https://www.pewpewtactical.com/best-hom ... -shotguns/). It reflects your statement about shotguns. I like shotguns as well. I also try to keep in mind as a back up plan that I may not detect a break-in. I remember reading an article about a couple who was not aware of a break-in; until, the person had a gun to her husband's head, while he was pulling up her night gown. And, he told her to be quiet, or her husband would be dead. So, she pulled out the hand gun from under her pillow and shot him. Carbine or shotgun probably would have not worked, in that particular situation. Any way, just my $.02.

I have a 12ga. and various other options, but my 9mm fits nicely in my bedside nightstand. My best home defense weapon would be the closest one to me at the time. THAT time would likely be during the night.

Im sure there exceptions to most cases but my wife and I dont sleep with a 9mm under our pillows. Im not sure how many people out of 10 do. It wouldnt work at my house right now as I have 2 dogs that seem to think they need to sleep on or by our heads.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Well, the dogs make for a good early warning defense.
Al, no pistolas under our pillows either.

In the nightstand. Could not tolerate one under the pillow either. Very unlikely that someone could enter my small home without me hearing them. Plenty of time to grab the 9.

We don't have pets any more. Our dead end driveway crosses the neighbors property. They have a big dog that barks at every car and delivery truck that goes by. When the dog barks we go on alert, especially at night.
