There are some posters on the older

Post by Catherine » Sun Mar 27, 2016 5:08 am

Henry forum that may or may not know about this new Henry forum.

I was just over there looking, it is up for now (?), and they did not understand what happened or why they were denied or forbidden to post on the old forum. Plus other ERROR messages!

I can understand the confusion myself!

And if I had not known Dave/NY and him being on the BF forum and looked all around online - I would not have known that you guys were making one up HERE. Dave let me know about this one. Thanks again.

So if some of you want to show those posters a LINK to here or in an email... you may want to check it out. That may not be allowed - I have no clue. I did NOT post a link to this website.

This is just a heads up to you.

I plan on staying here since this is UP and running. Plus we are able to contact the owners and moderators if needed.

I mean NO disrespect to the other forum or to the owner.

There has to be a way to contact an owner or a moderator if there are issues with a forum. There has to be communication between moderators and a forum owner/owners.

Thanks for the ear.

Sincerely,

Cate

Cate

Thanks for the heads up. I hadn't checked in a few days. Guess I'm as surprised as can be. I agree with all your comments above. Sir Henry and I put a lot of work in over there, with no way to direct the ultimate outcome. That led to here, where I plan to stay.

To me "THIS " is the H.R.A. forum and thanks to the work of two fine gentlemen and the expanding list of members,it will continue to be so.

I won't go back and post on the old forum. I'm sure quietman has his reasons for not being active. I think he has good intentions but doesn't have the time to moderate it. Dave and I are dedicated to making this forum active, fun, and without interruptions.

Cate,

I noticed that also. I still had the old Henry forum in my favorites list and clicked on it by accident this morning. I immediately closed out of it and deleted the link.

To me, the people who were actually driving the other Henry forum are now driving this one. They seem very committed to the site and I think I will just stay here.

I also enjoy that fact that DD/SH have formed a relationship with Henry Repeating Arms and Skinner Sights and have their support and input to this site.

Seems there are multiple forum sites for several other firearms makers that I know of (Ruger, Sig just to name a couple) and one of the sites seems to be very "user friendly" and gets a lot of traffic and the second site not as much. For me, this will be my primary Henry site.

Thanks guys.

Yeah, I just checked it myself and it's working again. I too would check on it now and then. Must have got back on in about the last day or two. But I agree, although I might check in now and then, this site is where I plan to stay, without question.

Dave/NY,

You're welcome.

I think that some of the other posters who got various 'error messages' did not understand what was going on. Plus many of them may have wondered why they were denied access to the old website thinking that it was 'them' not the problems with the forum.

I did not know if any person wanted to contact those posters so I put it up here.

Anyway, I consider this my HENRY rifle forum home.

Thank you and SH for putting this up.

as with others who have already commented, I enjoyed the old forum .... it didn't take long to come to look forward to info exchanges with a good number of folks .... thankfully, most all of them have migrated over here .... without a doubt, this forum as constructed by Dave and Sir Henry is much more user friendly than the old forum's software .... posting pictures is but one example .... I'm still a member over there as I am on several other forums and will continue to check in from time to time .... I wish them the best

I will probably spend most of my time here, but just as was the case tonight, I will post there from time to time also.

Yes I will stay with this site. I joined the other site late 2012, but to many problems.

Dave and I are both still administrators over there so I'll check it out a couple times a week but I'm not sure I will do much posting. When Dave and I took over the other site the biggest problem was there was no one to admit new members. I changed it to allow entry without approval but now that I'm not there very much I changed it back to what it was.

Wish I could get in touch with the owner but that was the second biggest problem.
