The Beast

Post by Whaler » Sat Jun 25, 2016 1:43 pm

I got my new Nikon 200-500mm lens today. The thing is huge, weighs in at 5#. Looks like the weather is clearing so hope to get out with it later today.

That is some serious glass!

That's not a Beast. It's a Hubble! What a lens. Congratulations.

Looks nice, but I thought you may be talking about Hilliary Clinton for a minute.

But I know, no politics, lol.

Self moderation. You are a true gentleman.

That is a great lens. I'm looking forward to seeing your results.

I remember seeing the difference clearly when I ponied up for my first and only piece of Canon "l" glass.

Congratulations and let the photographs flow.

I took a few quick test shots out on the patio. Hand held 1/800 sec @ f7. It's a keeper.

Yup! Wonderful clarity. You are going to have as much fun as shooting a Henry! ;)

Can that be, CT_Shooter?!? A rival for shooting a Henry? :o
Yes, I guess it could ---- coming from a photographer! ;)

Beautiful pictures, Whaler --- and after you finish with "test shots," the polished production photos should be magnificent! :D

That is a beast, you better eat your Wheaties before lugging it around for the day. :D
Incredibly sharp on those test shots.
I could have used one on my last cruise in Alaska. The longest I had was an 18-270 and had a Grizzly about 3/4 mile away on the shore. You can tell it was a big bear but far away.
Load on Sunday and Shoot all Week.......okay it's a Mare's Leg I will reload on Wednesday. ;)
