Thanks, my wife and I have vacationed there quite often and stayed just outside the historic area. I have found that for us, Fall is the best time to go because in the summer, especially with those crushed oyster shells that they lay down for walkways, it gets pretty hot. I love it there in October, and the historic area and the old taverns with period food are just splendid. Any American history buff would love it. I have walked into the gunsmith shop and watched them craft the original muskets. They say that you may wait a while, but if you have the "big bucks," that they will make you an original musket from scratch. I am not exactly sure how much, but it is in the thousands of dollars.

It is a lock plate for a Flint Lock rifle. It was our first trip there and loved it.

When we were there he was making a rifle for a member of Congress. Cost was over $10,000.00.

Yeah, I knew that they were very expensive but I wasn't sure just how much that they wanted to make one.

Brings back memories, that historic area is so beautiful. I really liked to walk through their gardens in back of the different buildings. The cold apple cider that they served on a hot day sure tasted good too.

Haven't been there in ages. I grew up in Chesapeake and we took school trips and vacation trips to Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown pretty often. Love the early American history back home.
