Kind of a slow day at Magnolia yesterday.

I guess this first image as a portent of things to come for the day.

Agree, great shot with the wings forward like that.

It's a tern. It was hovering over the pond prior to making a dive for a fish.

Here's one of a tern after a successful dive.

The Pup and I went back to the zoo today. Had a good day. Took too many pictures. I came back with almost 2,000. I need to start shooting in single servo mode at the zoo. Got burned out on editing a little while ago. I will get the rest done tomorrow or the next day. Here's a couple.

There will be more gorilla pics tomorrow. I hit tilt on editing about an hour ago. Editing is not my favorite part of the process. It is, however, a necessary one. At least it is for the way I shoot.

Great images, CH. Looking forward to the rest of the "batch". Happily, it's not limited to 36 shots and processing time.

Here's a few more.

I didn't think the extra 100mm of the new lens would make much difference. It's less noticeable with birds at a distance, but with larger subjects that are closer up, it really does get you in closer than my old lens. This image was not cropped at all. FYI, there was a fair amount of distance between me and this subject.

And here is another example of what Lightroom, and other modern editing software can do with just a few minutes of work. I shot this tiger with it's face obscured by bamboo just as an experiment. I then spent no more than 5 minutes editing it in Lightroom. Here is the before and after.

Great photos.

Deliberately including the bamboo in the image and using AI to remove it is interesting and even fascinating, but in my still forming opinion, it is no longer a photograph, though it simulates one.

It may never have been true that a photograph could be trusted as a faithful recording of an event (a picture is worth a thousand words), but not now. They can never be trusted again. Which is scary.
