Late corn in the flowers...

Post by PT7 » Mon Sep 05, 2016 6:24 pm

For a number of weeks now, I've been watching a straggler corn plant growing in the flower bed, by the sidewalk in front of our apartment patio. So decided to try taking some pictures today...the waning sun seem to throw nice light on this healthy, although very small, harvest. I'm also hoping the lawn maintenance crew doesn't take it away too soon. It would have been more fun to watch it grow, if it had started in our patio potted plant garden. Then I could tell everyone I was growing corn this year!! Here are some of my amateur photos of the straggler...

Pretty small start, isn't it? ;)

Just noticed this start today --- probably too late in the season for a harvest

I rarely get into photos, so thought I'd "pose" next to the corn.

Isn't there a saying corn should be knee high by the Fourth of July?

Looks good to me. Is Shoeless Joe hiding behind it?
