Re: Cow Country
Not exactly cow "country" but we ran into a guy we know at the Fort McLeod Santa Claus parade last week. He's a local western artist. Nice buffalo coat. You can still see a few old cowpokes in this original frontier town. The Fort and the NWMP barracks are still there, and draw lots of tourists. She was a big territory to ride & manage back in the late 1800's. Sitting Bull camped not far from there when he and his followers fled the Dakotas for brief time over a century ago.

I like the buffalo coat, bet it's very warm (and heavy). Like your coat too, assuming that's you, the hat looks the same as the one in your avatar.

Re: Cow Country
Yup it's me. The coat is from a pattern from the late 1800's. Keith Carradine wore one in Monte Walsh.
Mine is warm enough, I'd cook in a buffalo coat!

My mom made me a wool blanet capote back when I was rendevouxing, very warm but not very practical for everyday use, no pockets and too long for driving.
Re: Cow Country
Thanks for the pic. Good one. You northern neighbors make interesting copy. At least the country folk.
Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

Re: Cow Country
Yeah, I like both coats, but I doubt it would ever get cold enough here to be able to wear it.... maybe once or twice a year...
Would be a shame to have something so nice, and have it hang unused..

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can't do anymore with regret, I just look forward to the things I still can.
