Re: Cow Country
That is so cool. Thank you. The photo by the water hole was my wife's mare, Magic. She passed away 2 years ago. Great horse. Thanks for having her in your home.

Ps...I am kicking those dogs...they were fighting under my horse! The kick they got was nothing compared to the one they were going to get! Look at Dakota's expression....

Great photographs, especially the last one, herding the cattle. Very nice.

Re: Cow Country
Thanks for sharing your cowboy experiences with the forum, RR! Most of us just have our Henry's and a Stetson hat, but no cattle or horses. I love seeing your candid photos.

Re: Cow Country
New horse we tried out yesterday, 6 yr old green broke mare. Well mannered, she's quite easy to work with. We brought her home for a week to see how she goes. Full refund next weekend if for some reason we don't keep her. My wife really liked her but wanted me to ride her for a while first. This is in the big Ag arena in Ft MacLeod. Ft Macleod was a Northwest Mounted Police fort back in the mid to late 1800's. The fort is now a tourist attraction. The NWMP later became the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police).
Anyhow, this little mare seemed ok, so we'll ride her for a week and see what happens. Our other horses were chasing her relentlessly so we put her in her own pen last night so she could eat, drink and rest. She might be a real good little horse for my wife to trail ride on.

Re: Cow Country
She seems pretty level headed. I swung a rope around her yesterday, first time she's seen one and was curious not alarmed. Good sign.

Re: Cow Country
She is a beauty, I can see why the other horses were chasing her. The boys wanted her number. And the ladies were trying to keep her from stealing their boyfriends.
I love the lightning bolt on her forehead.
