Spillway Reflections

Post by BrokenolMarine » Mon Apr 03, 2017 10:11 am

I love to catch reflections in still water, and love the patterns of colors or objects. This is one of my favorite pictures. I think it would make a great puzzle. It's a spillway at a VA State Park, and we donated the pic to the park for postcards and for use on the website.

They liked the spillway picture, but the one below of the lake itself they liked so much they blew it up had it framed and hung it over the fireplace in all fourteen cabins around the lake.

by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can't do anymore with regret, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Ditto to Dutch's comment.
Man, is that water ever still......look at the birds flying high above the lake!

Memory... mine is a bit shot. Seems I misremembered which shot they chose for the cabins. THEY also decided the spillway shot was their favorite and that's the one they chose. Here is a shot of the framed shot over a fireplace in one of the cabins... the Chief Warden took it and emailed it to me after they were first installed. They had all the shots printed on large format "oil painting" style at the local Ritz Camera, then the Maintenance Crew framed them all.

I was flattered that they chose my work.

It was the second time they have done so. I worked with Miss Tina to do a series of pictures for them to use on a Catch, photo and release instructional series for the park. Here is one of the photos they used.
